In Astrology, the Moon rules the fourth house (which represents home, your roots and where you come from). The fourth house is also about the need for security. Your Moon sign in astrology rules your emotions and how you process and relate to feelings. Emotional intelligence is a thing. The moon spends approx. 2.5 days in each Zodiac sign moving through all 12 signs in a single month. Your moon sign provides additional insight into your character. The moon reflects the light of the Sun enabling us to reflect on our current circumstances and how we respond and react to situations. For example, for me personally, when the Moon is in an Earth Sign, I tend to be more practical with handling my emotions. When the Moon is in a water sign, well...that could go either way for me with my Scorpio Moon (still waters run deep or turn into a tsunami).

The Moon affects how we feel about things and is linked to our intuition (that gut feeling when you just know what you know you know). Just like how the Moon moves the tides, why would it not do the same with our bodies? There is a general ebb and flow to the Moon's energy with which we can work. Twice a year, a new or full moon occurs in each sun-sign. At these times, you have the opportunity to let go of the past and make a new start. With New Moons, seeds are planted (intentions) and with the next Full Moon projects come to fruition. A Full Moon in your sun sign may also activate a crisis in your personal life which may make you behave irrationally; however, in actuality, you can no longer repress the emotional urges that need to be released or fulfilled. The Moon transiting a natal or repressed planet has a fleeting effect, but it can also bring to the surface the irrational or ingrained habitual expressions of that planet's energy.
